The Choral Society Of Pensacola is a cornerstone of Pensacola’s vibrant classical and concert scene. Founded in 1935 as the Pensacola Choral Society and later known as the Pensacola Oratorio Society, the ensemble was renamed The Choral Society Of Pensacola in 1983. Today, under the artistic leadership of Peter Steenblik, who also directs choral activities at the University of West Florida, the choir delivers a diverse program that spans classical masterworks, contemporary choral commissions, and crossover programs that touch on pop, jazz, and theatre. Upcoming highlights for the 2025–2026 season include A Choral Society Mixtape (October 11, 2025, at Cokesbury Church), Messiah Sing! The ensemble will also perform Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 with the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra on March 7, 2026, and join forces with the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra on April 18, 2026.
