Chris Ardoin, born April 7, 1981 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, is a cornerstone of modern zydeco. Son of Lawrence Ardoin and a member of the influential Ardoin musical dynasty, he began performing as a child prodigy with Double Clutchin’. Over the years, Ardoin helped pioneer nouveau zydeco, blending traditional zydeco with hip-hop, reggae, and R&B. He later fronted NuStep Zydeko and, more recently, Soul Rehab Music Group projects. His work spans from Lagniappe (1991) to Press Play: Live (2020), with continued impact through 2025 releases and performances.
