Chris Duarte is a Bayou-born, Texas-raised guitarist whose blend of blues, rock, jazz, funk, and punk blues has earned him a devoted following. Born February 16, 1963 in San Antonio and rooted in Austin’s vibrant music scene, Duarte burst onto the scene with the Texas Sugar/Strat Magik material in the mid-1990s, earning Guitar Player magazine’s Best New Talent in 1995 and a high placement as one of the top blues guitarists. Over a storied career, Duarte has released 14+ studio projects, earning a reputation for high-energy live shows, searing guitar tones, and a knack for weaving diverse influences into a compelling, unapologetic rockin’ blues sound. He was inducted into the Canada Blues Hall of Fame in 2016, cementing his status as a global blues-rock figure. Duarte continues to tour and record, bringing his unmistakable style to venues across North America.

On the road and in the studio, Duarte collaborates with seasoned producers and musicians, keeping the blues fresh while honoring its roots. His 2023 album Ain’t Giving Up, produced by Dennis Herring and released on Provogue/Mascot, showcases contemporary energy with standout tracks like Nobody But You and Gimme Your Love.
