Christopher Wheeldon is a globally influential choreographer and performer whose work bridges classical ballet and contemporary theatre. Born March 22, 1973, in Yeovil, England, he trained at The Royal Ballet School and danced with The Royal Ballet before joining New York City Ballet as Resident Choreographer in 2001. He later founded Morphoses/The Wheeldon Company in 2007, a transatlantic platform for new works, and became Artistic Associate of The Royal Ballet in 2012. Wheeldon has created acclaimed full-length ballets such as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and The Winter's Tale, and has collaborated on notable theatre projects including An American in Paris on Broadway and MJ The Musical on Broadway. His work consistently earns the industry’s top honors and remains a mainstay on international stages.
