The CIBC Canada Russia Series is a storied Canadian hockey showcase whose roots trace back to 2003 as the RE/MAX Canada–Russia Challenge. Over the years, sponsors evolved from RE/MAX and ADT to Subway, with CIBC naming rights from 2016 through 2019. Historically a six-game format each year, the series features Russia taking on each of the CHL member leagues—the QMJHL, the OHL, and the WHL—in a three-venue, multi-city setup. While broadcasts historically aired on Sportsnet in Canada, updates flow through official CHL channels such as @CHLHockey on X. As of 2025–26, the series has effectively ended, with CHL pivoting focus to the CHL USA Prospects Challenge. We’ve got you covered with the key moments, a look at the series’ legacy, and what’s next for hockey fans following this chapter in junior hockey history.
