Founded in 1990 by Cindy Yang, Cindy Yang Dance Academy (CYDA) is a premier Canadian school dedicated to Chinese ethnic minority and classical dance. With a commitment to technical mastery, artistic expression, and official exam training through the Beijing Dance Academy CDGES syllabus, CYDA has helped dancers achieve national and international recognition. Our Richmond and Burnaby classes cultivate young talent through structured curricula, performance opportunities, and competitive excellence. CYDA also operates the official CDGES examination center under the Beijing Dance Academy guidelines, offering Grades 1–13 to ensure students progress with recognized credentials.

CYDA’s program extends beyond the classroom with the bi-annual Soul of Dance productions, showcasing diverse repertoires and providing students with stage experience. Since its inception, CYDA students have earned 350+ trophies and first-place medals across regional and international competitions.
