Cirque Arlette Gruss is one of France’s most enduring family-run circuses, renowned for its elegant production, live orchestral accompaniment, and commitment to a modern, animal-conscious show. Since 1985, when Arlette Gruss and Georgika Kobann established the company, the troupe has grown into a touring staple, delivering high-quality entertainment across France with a focus on artistic storytelling, breathtaking choreography, and impressive equestrian and domestic-animal acts. Today, under the direction of Gilbert Gruss (since Arlette Gruss passed in 2006), the company continues to enchant audiences with contemporary grandeur while honoring its rich history.

Highlights include the iconic La Cathédrale tent redesign introduced around 2009, featuring no interior masts and a capacity of about 1,730 seats, creating an intimate yet spectacular arena-like atmosphere. Cirque Arlette Gruss’ live orchestra—comprising roughly a dozen musicians under the show’s musical direction—drives the performance with dynamic scores that complement daring aerials, precise choreography, and ballet-infused routines. The company has committed to no wild animals in performances since 2020, while domestic animals and cavalry remain integral to the acts. The 2025 tour stops across France provide fans with a chance to see the troupe in major cities such as La Rochelle, Rouen, Arras, Lille, Boulogne-sur-Mer, Dunkerque, Thionville, Mulhouse, Colmar, Strasbourg, Reims, and Paris. A special engagement in Paris, Parenthèse, is scheduled for Pelouse de Reuilly from November 29 to December 14, 2025.
