CirqueLouis: Gravity's Varieties is a Louisville-born nonprofit circus arts collective dedicated to expanding contemporary circus theatre and inclusive access to performance. Founded in 2015 as CirqueLouis, this 501(c)(3) organization blends aerial discipline with storytelling, community engagement, and accessible programming. Co-founders Abbie Springer and Lynley Elliott—both accomplished aerialists—helped shape CirqueLouis’ artistic direction and community partnerships from the start. Gravity's Varieties, the company’s hallmark production, debuted at The Kentucky Center’s Bomhard Theater in November 2018 under the direction of Jordan Clark. The show offered a sensory-friendly option, reflecting CirqueLouis’ commitment to welcoming audiences of all ages and abilities. The troupe continues to emphasize inclusive programming through initiatives like Social Circus and The Unicycle Project, partnering with local organizations to bring circus arts to autistic and underserved communities. Though CirqueLouis’ Gravity's Varieties has not announced a broad touring calendar, the company maintains an active presence in Louisville’s arts scene and via social platforms. We’ve got you covered for the latest on performances, projects, and opportunities to support inclusive, community-focused circus arts.
