Now part of the CSO’s Negaunee Music Institute, the ensemble is led by Principal Conductor Ken-David Masur and supported by CSO coaches. With a mission to nurture young talent and engage communities, the Civic Orchestra boasts more than 160 alumni who have joined the Chicago Symphony Orchestra itself. Whether performing in Orchestra Hall, at community venues across Greater Chicago, or via WFMT broadcasts and CSOtv/YouTube clips, the Civic Orchestra delivers accessible, high-caliber performances for all ages and backgrounds.
