CKYO (Central Kentucky Youth Orchestra) is one of the oldest independently chartered youth orchestras in the United States, founded in 1947 and based in Lexington, Kentucky. All CKYO performances take place at the Singletary Center for the Arts on the University of Kentucky campus. With more than 450 talented students across multiple counties, CKYO nurtures young musicians through six classical/jazz ensembles plus percussion, plus programs like CKYO MusicWorks and Friends in Music. The 78th CKYO season (2025-2026) features large-scale concerts, collaborations, commissions, and a season finale that brings hundreds of young musicians to the stage.
