Claire Chase Tickets

Claire Chase is a pioneering American flutist, composer, and advocate for new music. A MacArthur Fellow (2012) and Avery Fisher Prize recipient (2017), she co-founded the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) and served as its artistic director. Chase is renowned for shaping contemporary flute repertoire through innovative commissions, performances, and interdisciplinary collaborations. Her multi-decade Density 2036 project commissions and premieres new flute works, fostering a living, evolving canon for the instrument.

Her recent releases push the boundaries of sound and technology. Ubique (Anna Thorvaldsdottir) premiered in 2023 on Sono Luminus, and Density VI–VIII (3-CD set) followed with New Focus Recordings. From 2020 to 2023, Part VI/VIII and Part VII (Liza Lim: Sex Magic) expanded the repertoire for contrabass flute and electronics, reflecting Chase's commitment to sonic exploration and ethical, collaborative creation. In 2025, a Part X track continues the Density 2036 arc, with NPR highlighting Density 2036 activities from 2023–25.
