Claire Lynch is a pillar of modern bluegrass, weaving tradition with contemporary storytelling. Born February 20, 1954 in Kingston, New York, she began her influential career in the 1970s and became a leading voice in the bluegrass scene. Lynch’s work spans solo projects, collaborations, and bands, including her stint as Front Porch String Band leader in the 1980s and the formation of the Claire Lynch Band in 2005. Her influence has been recognized with multiple IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year awards and Grammy-nominated albums that helped shape the genre.
