Claire Lynch began her influential bluegrass journey long before forming The Claire Lynch Band in 2005. Her artistry blends traditional bluegrass foundations with thoughtful storytelling and melodic clarity. The three-time IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year winner (1997, 2010, 2013) has also been recognized with the USA Walker Fellowship, underscoring her contributions to the genre and her peers’ respect for her craft.
Her work as a songwriter and performer earned critical acclaim with Dear Sister, the 2014 IBMA Song of the Year, and the accompanying Dear Sister album reaching No. 9 on the Bluegrass Albums chart. The 2016 release North by South (Compass) reached No. 5 on the Bluegrass Albums chart and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Bluegrass Album, highlighting Lynch’s impact on the national stage.
In addition to studio accolades, Lynch contributed I Give You the Morning to the 2024 Tom Paxton tribute project Bluegrass Sings Paxton, and Holiday!
