The Cleveland Jazz Orchestra (CJO) has been a fixture of Northeast Ohio’s jazz landscape since 1983, evolving from the North Coast Jazz Orchestra into a premier ensemble dedicated to exploring, celebrating, and expanding the art of jazz. Under the steady musical leadership of Artistic Director Paul Ferguson since 2015, the orchestra has continued to push creative boundaries while honoring the genre’s traditions. Ferguson, a renowned trombonist and composer-arranger, brings a deep history with the craft, including the Gil Evans Fellowship in Jazz Composition (1995). This page highlights the CJO’s biography, discography, and upcoming tour and venue dates.
