The Colburn School is a distinguished performing arts institution in Los Angeles, founded in 1950 and evolving into an independent school in 1980. Its multi-unit model includes the Conservatory of Music, the Music Academy, and the Trudl Zipper Dance Institute, all operating with a scholarship-first approach since 2003. The four units collaborate to provide high-level music and dance training to motivated students from diverse backgrounds, with a mission to make top-tier performing arts education accessible to all.
