Colin Dunne is a celebrated Irish dancer and choreographer whose career spans elite competition, international stage works, and community-focused education. A Riverdance principal dancer from 1995 to 1998, Dunne held nine world championships as a youth and earned an MA in Contemporary Dance from the University of Limerick in 2002. His multimedia solo Out Of Time, which blends dance, spoken text, archival film, and live sound processing, premiered in 2008 at Glór, Ennis, and has since toured internationally, including performances at the Barbican in London and venues in New York City. The work earned nominations for the UK Critics Circle Award (Best Male Dancer) in 2009 and a Laurence Olivier Award in 2010. Dunne’s later solo work, Concert (2017), drew from the life of Tommie Potts and won the TG4 Gradam Ceoil Award for Music Collaboration in 2018, with a subsequent Bessie Award nomination in 2020. Beyond performance, Dunne is active in education and residencies, delivering professional development weeks and workshops through 2024–2025 with organizations like Dance Limerick and Theatre NI. While public social media presence is limited, his artistic influence remains widely respected in the dance community.
