What surrounds the action
Based in Denver, Colorado, the Colorado Avalanche have a storied history in the NHL. Since relocating from Quebec City to Denver for the 1995-96 season and adopting the Avalanche name, the team has become a staple of Colorado sports. They’ve lifted the Stanley Cup in 1996, 2001, and 2022, and earned Presidents’ Trophy honors in 1997, 2001, and 2021 for the best regular-season record. Home ice is at Ball Arena (formerly Pepsi Center) in downtown Denver, where fans fill the seats for each dramatic matchup.
