The Colorado Youth Symphony (CYS) has been shaping young musical talent in Denver, Colorado, since 1984. Founded to provide orchestral experience for school‑age musicians with early startup support from the University of Denver, CYS offers a range of ensembles designed to fit busy student schedules. Based at 428 Elati St, Denver, CO 80204, CYS serves youth 19 and younger through a flexible audition process and programs led by a dedicated team including Executive Director Michelle Orman and conductors like Margaret Dyer Harris (Symphony) and Dr. Grant Larson (Wind Ensemble).

Ensembles include Philharmonia, Symphony, Wind Ensemble, Spectrum String Ensemble, and related chamber/outreach programs. Notable activities include a Prague Multicultural Music Festival trip by the Spectrum String Ensemble in 2019 and frequent school and community performances at Capitol/Arts venues and Nuggets games. The 2025-2026 season features a Fall Concert on November 23, 2025, at Pinnacle Charter School Performing Arts Complex; a Spring Concert on April 13, 2026, at Colorado's Finest High School of Choice; and a Pops Concert on April 27, 2026, at Colorado's Finest High School of Choice. Tuition for 2025-2026 is the best available price total (includes deposit), Spectrum String Ensemble tuition is the best available price, with financial aid available.
