Compton Theatre Organ is a storied performer in the world of cinema and theatre organ music. Born from the 1937 classic John Compton Organ Company design (No. 379) and originally installed at the Ritz Cinema in Warrington, England, this remarkable instrument moved to Australia in 1970. It found a home at Her Majesty’s Theatre Ballarat, with the opening concert held on 12 June 1982. Featuring ~677 pipes and over 200 keys, along with theatre organ stops and effects, it remains a centerpiece for silent-film accompaniment and live performance alike.
