The Constellation Energy League (CEL) emerged in 2020 as a short-lived, independent baseball-influenced entertainment concept. Played at Constellation Field in Sugar Land, Texas, the four-team league (Eastern Reyes del Tigre, Sugar Land Skeeters, Sugar Land Lightning Sloths, and Team Texas) planned a 56-game season from July 10 to August 30, 2020. Though the league operated for one season, CEL left a mark on the Sugar Land sports scene and the broader storytelling around alternative league play.
