Contempo Physical Dance is a Minnesota-based company founded in 2011 by artistic director Marciano Silva dos Santos and managing director Jenny Pennaz. The company is known for its distinctive Brazilian contemporary dance aesthetic, which blends Afro-Brazilian movement with modern dance techniques. Since its debut at the Ritz Theatre with the sold-out Motirf2, Contempo has grown into a global collaborator, presenting a full repertoire and engaging in international choreographic residencies.
