The Cooper International Violin Competition is a premier annual event produced by Oberlin College and Conservatory in partnership with the Cleveland Orchestra. Since its founding in 2010, the competition has become a trusted platform for young violinists to showcase their talent on an international stage. The competition alternates yearly with piano, focusing on violins in odd-numbered years and pianos in even-numbered years. This performer page highlights the competition’s legacy, prize structure, and opportunities for aspiring violinists aged 13–18 who have not yet started college.
