Copland's Third is a monumental work by American composer Aaron Copland, written between 1944 and 1946. Premiered October 18, 1946 by the Boston Symphony Orchestra under Serge Koussevitzky, this four-movement symphony is celebrated for its expansive orchestration and a heroic finale that draws on the Fanfare for the Common Man theme. Spanning roughly 38–40 minutes, it remains a centerpiece of the American orchestral repertoire.
