Corrado Rovaris is a distinguished conductor known for his deep expertise in bel canto and verismo repertoire. Born in Bergamo, Italy, he trained at the Milan Conservatory and earned degrees in composition, organ, and harpsichord. His early career included serving as assistant chorus master at La Scala (1992–1996). Rovaris has been a guiding force at Opera Philadelphia since 2005 and leads the Artosphere Festival Orchestra in Arkansas. He helped launch Opera Philadelphia’s Festival O and the Aurora Series, shaping a dynamic ecosystem for innovative opera programming.
