What reaches the room
Cowboys of Color Rodeo is a trailblazing performer and foundational force in multicultural rodeo events. Founded in 1995 as the Texas Black Invitational Rodeo, the group has grown into a 7-city tour spanning Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa. Led by the late Cleo L. Hearn, a pioneer who became the first African American to win the National Tie-Down Calf Roping Championship in 1970, Cowboys of Color Rodeo continues to celebrate diverse talent and community through high-energy performances, storytelling, and rodeo lore.
