Cruiserweight emerged in 1999 from Austin, Texas, delivering a female-fronted take on alternative pop/rock with a heavy dose of power-pop. Fronted by Stella Maxwell, alongside Urny and Yogi Maxwell and bassist David Hawkins, the band carved out a distinct sound that balanced catchy hooks with raw indie energy. Though the active period mainly spans the 2000s, Cruiserweight earned recognition in the Austin scene and left a lasting imprint on fans of modern pop-punk and indie rock.
