Cupid In The CLE traces its roots to the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra (CJO), a long-running big-band ensemble founded in 1985 and led by artistic director Paul Ferguson. The group's Valentine’s program, which evolved into Cupid In The CLE, features strong vocal performances from Evelyn Wright, a recognized artist with Tri-C JazzFest’s Jazz Legend Award (2008) and multiple Cleveland-area accolades. The CJO’s discography highlights a legacy of high-caliber performances, including Traditions (1996), Swingin’ Together With Sammy Nestico (1998), The Surprise of Being (Live At Birdland) (2007), and The Cleveland Jazz Orchestra: Live at the Bop Stop (2024).
