Dan Bell, born Daniel Karl Bell in 1967 in Sacramento, California, is a foundational figure in minimal and Detroit techno. Also known as DBX, Cybersonik (with Richie Hawtin), and KB Project, Bell helped shape the sound that bridged classic Detroit influences with emerging minimal techniques. He founded Accelerate in 1991 and co-founded Seventh City Distribution, laying groundwork that helped independent techno artists reach a global audience.
