Dan Flanagan is a distinguished violinist, composer, and interdisciplinary artist recognized for his roles as concertmaster and educator. He serves as Concertmaster of the Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera and as Concertmaster of West Edge Opera, while also teaching violin at UC Berkeley. A founder of The Bow and the Brush, he collaborates with visual artists to commission music inspired by paintings and sculptures. His 2023 album with The Bow and the Brush was released by MSR Classics, and he is a founding member of the Farallon Quintet, with their 2015 debut album highlighting original chamber works. Flanagan’s work blends performance, composition, and visual art, creating immersive experiences for diverse audiences.
