Dan Moretti is a celebrated jazz saxophonist and educator whose career spans mastering the craft of contemporary writing and production. A 2017 inductee into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame for his contributions as a performer and educator, Moretti has shaped generations of musicians through performance and teaching. As Professor Emeritus at Berklee College of Music in Boston, he has been a fixture in the jazz education community since 1996, developing courses and mentoring students in contemporary writing and production.

With a discography that extends from 1985 to 2025, Moretti has led and co-led over 20 releases across esteemed labels such as Black Hawk, Par, Whaling City, Dodicilune, Foundations Jazz, and Roots Grooves. His 2025 release, Brazilia Live at the Pump House, Celebrating Wayne Shorter, on Roots Grooves Records, achieved notable chart success, reaching #1 on RMR and #6 on Jazz Week with around 22 weeks on national charts.

Moretti continues to perform and educate across the Northeast, bringing his vibrant sound and deep knowledge of jazz to eager audiences. Whether in intimate clubs or festival stages, his performances emphasize connection, storytelling, and the living history of jazz.
