Daniel Lohues is a cornerstone of Dutch folk-pop, blending intimate storytelling with acoustic arrangements in Neder-Saksisch and Dutch. Born on 16 February 1971 in Emmen, he rose to fame with the group Skik before launching a storied solo career in 2006 with the Allennig series. Alongside his frequent collaborators Bernard Gepken and Reyer Zwart, Lohues has crafted a sound that resonates across the Netherlands, balancing tradition with contemporary storytelling.
