Darryl Taylor is a renowned countertenor known for his versatile performances across art song, opera, and oratorio. With a career that spans international stages and a dedication to expanding opportunities for Black composers, Taylor has become a guiding voice in contemporary classical music. He is the founder of the African American Art Song Alliance (AAASA), an organization committed to preserving, performing, and promoting African American art songs for vocal artists and audiences alike. Based in Southern California, Taylor also serves on the faculty at UC Irvine, where he combines performance with scholarly outreach and education.
