Davey Arthur, born Davey Pat Arthur in Donegal, Ireland in 1954, is a storied figure in Celtic and Irish folk music. A prodigious multi-instrumentalist, he captivated audiences with his banjo, mandolin, and guitar, helping shape the soundscape of Irish traditional music from the late 1970s onward. Arthur joined The Fureys in the late 1970s, contributing to a prolific period before pursuing solo and related projects from 1992. His return to touring with The Fureys in various lineups helped sustain the enduring appeal of this beloved Irish family band.
