Dayton Ballet School was founded by Josephine and Hermene Schwarz in 1927. Dayton Ballet School is the oldest ballet school in Dayton and among the oldest in the United States. The pre-professional company of Dayton Ballet School was founded by Miss Jo in 1948. Dayton Ballet celebrated its 75th anniversary, highlighting its inspiring history and contributions to dance.
