Dead Fucking Last (DFL) is a no-nonsense LA hardcore project born from a powerhouse lineup that included Tom Davis (Crazy Tom), Monty Messex, and Ad-Rock (Adam Horovitz) of the Beastie Boys. Emerging from the 1990s LA hardcore scene, DFL tied together fierce energy and bold experimentation, releasing material on Grand Royal and making a mark with their relentless live shows. Their early discography—featuring Grateful (1997), Proud to Be (1995), Tony’s War (1995), Hurricane/DFL – America’s Most Hardcore (1994), and My Crazy Life (1993)—captured a punk vigor that still resonates with fans today. A standout moment in their history was performing on Lollapalooza’s second stage, introducing DFL to a wider audience and cementing their reputation as must-see live performers.

In the years since, DFL has kept the spirit alive with deluxe reissues, remasters, and new material. The 2023 deluxe reissue of My Crazy Life included a remastered version and a live set, while 2015 saw 20th-anniversary reissues of Proud to Be. The band continued to release new work with the YRUDFL EP in 2021 and, in 2025, returned with the single Paddy Wagon and fresh tour activity. Expect a raw, high-energy live experience when you secure your seats for upcoming shows in Southern California venues and festival appearances.
