Dead Fucking Last (DFL) is a no-nonsense LA hardcore project born from a powerhouse lineup that included Tom Davis (Crazy Tom), Monty Messex, and Ad-Rock (Adam Horovitz) of the Beastie Boys. Emerging from the 1990s LA hardcore scene, DFL tied together fierce energy and bold experimentation, releasing material on Grand Royal and making a mark with their relentless live shows. Their early discography—featuring Grateful (1997), Proud to Be (1995), Tony’s War (1995), Hurricane/DFL – America’s Most Hardcore (1994), and My Crazy Life (1993)—captured a punk vigor that still resonates with fans today. A standout moment in their history was performing on Lollapalooza’s second stage, introducing DFL to a wider audience and cementing their reputation as must-see live performers.
