Dear World is a beloved Broadway musical with music and lyrics by Jerry Herman and a book by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, inspired by Jean Giraudoux's The Madwoman of Chaillot. The show originally opened on Broadway in 1969 at the Mark Hellinger Theatre, running 132 performances and earning Angela Lansbury a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical.
