Dejha Colantuono is a multi-faceted performer and songwriter whose work spans indie rock, punk, electronic textures, and collaborative projects. As the founder of Mad Meow Music (MMM) in 2000, she built a platform to manage her music and side projects while acting as a distribution and marketing vehicle for like-minded artists. Dejha’s early career saw her as the frontwoman of Rotten Apples, a fixture in Seattle’s DIY rock scene with releases like Trash (2001) and Real Tuff (Durable Plastic) (2002). She later contributed significantly to Daylight Basement, a project blending rock, electronic, and pop textures, with Bre Loughlin as the primary creative force; Dejha remained a core member and collaborator. Her early DIY roots include The Pin-Ups and Backseat Memoirs (2000), a release later associated with Good Ink/Mad Meow Music. In 2025, Dejha remains an active live performer in Seattle, with an UNPLUGGED show planned at Sleight of Hand Cellars (SODO) on November 22, 2025, and participation in a Women’s Day bill at Clock-Out Lounge on March 8, 2025.
