Depeche Mode is one of the most influential synth-pop acts in music history. Formed in 1980 in Basildon, Essex, the band originally included Vince Clarke, along with Andy Fletcher, Dave Gahan, and Martin Gore. After Clarke’s departure in 1981, Gahan and Gore continued as a duo with Fletcher remaining a pivotal member until his passing in 2022. The band has since continued to create and perform under the leadership of Gahan and Gore, delivering electrifying live shows and studio albums that have shaped the genre for decades.
