Derik Nelson is a versatile guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter whose career spans TV magic, international programs, and independent releases. As lead guitarist on the hit TV show Glee and as a featured artist on episodes for Modern Family, Raising Hope, New Girl, How I Met Your Mother, Go On, and The Voice, Derik brings a refined sound that blends classic influences with modern indie sensibilities. He’s a two-time American Music Abroad alumnus and has participated in U.S. Cultural Ambassador programs with the State Department, sharing music across borders and cultures. A USC graduate with a BS in Music Industry, Derik helped shape the USC Popular Music Degree program and is a recipient of the Brian Wilson Music Scholarship. He’s also an Indie International Songwriting Competition winner. In live settings, Derik has performed the National Anthem for teams like the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Sounders FC, and the Portland Trail Blazers. He continues to release music through a growing discography and tours in support of new material.
