The Des Moines Gay Men's Chorus (DMGMC) is a dynamic, non-auditioned TTBB chorus based in Des Moines, Iowa. Founded in 2001 by Dr. Randal A. Buikema, the chorus has grown into a community anchor for LGBTQ+ singers and allies, combining musical excellence with outreach and advocacy. With 80+ singers, DMGMC features two distinctive ensembles: HarMANY, an auditioned choir, and TRANScendent, which centers trans and non-binary voices. As a member of GALA Choruses, DMGMC has performed at multiple GALA Festivals, including 2008, 2012, and 2016, showcasing its vibrant repertoire on national stages. The chorus celebrated its Silver Season in 2025, marking a 25-year milestone and a tradition of three-concert seasons that engage audiences across central Iowa and beyond.

DMGMC’s 2025 tour opens in Apple Valley, MN with a joint performance with Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus on March 15, 2025, and continues with Des Moines-area shows at Urbandale High School (March 20–21) and a final joint concert at Urbandale High School Performing Arts Center on March 22, 2025. In addition to concert programming, the chorus is known for community initiatives like youth outreach through Out in the Schools and memorable themed productions, including a 2024 Kelly Clarkson tribute, that broaden visibility for LGBTQ+ artists in the Midwest.
