The Detroit Concert Choir is a leading auditioned chorus based in Detroit, celebrated for its versatility across classical, pops, and collaborative performances. Founded in 1987 as a 75-voice ensemble, the choir has grown under the artistic direction of Dr. Michael A. Mitchell since 2019. With a rich history of national and international honors, including the prestigious Choir of the World title at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales and the Margaret Hillis Award for Choral Excellence, the choir continues to push musical boundaries while honoring its Detroit roots. Their 2025-26 season, The Mosaic of Us, showcases a diverse repertoire and ambitious collaborations across churches and concert venues in Michigan and beyond.
