Formed in New York City in 2002 by Brandi Hart and Buddy Woodward, Dixie Bee Liners became a distinctive voice in bluegrass, Americana, and folk. The group later based themselves in Southwest Virginia and signed with Pinecastle Records, releasing a string of influential albums that showcased eclectic instrumentation and a moody, cinematic sensibility described by press as 'Bible Belt Noir.' The band disbanded in 2012, with members pursuing solo projects, while their final studio project, Through My Screen Door: The Final Sessions, was released in 2014–2015.
