The Dizzy Gillespie All Stars deliver an authentic live homage to one of jazz’s most influential figures. This flexible ensemble, typically 6–8 musicians strong, focuses on Dizzy Gillespie’s 1940s and 1950s repertoire—spanning landmark tunes like A Night In Tunisia, Anthropology, BeBop, Birks Works, Blue ’N’ Boogie, and Con Alma. The lineup changes with each show, but past members have included celebrated players such as John Lee, Cyrus Chestnut, Lewis Nash, Antonio Hart, and Roy Hargrove. Led by longtime bassist John Lee, the All Stars operate as a dynamic tribute project that keeps Gillespie’s spirit alive in intimate and vibrant live settings.
