DJ Akademiks, born Livingston George Allen in 1989 in Spanish Town, Jamaica, is a versatile figure in music, media, and streaming. A Rutgers University graduate with a biomathematics degree, he built a name for himself as a sharp commentator on hip hop culture and current events in music. He co-hosted the acclaimed Complex series Everyday Struggle starting in 2017 and later launched Off the Record with DJ Akademiks on Spotify in August 2021. In recent years, he expanded to live streaming on Rumble (2023) while maintaining a robust presence across YouTube, X (Twitter), Instagram, and Twitch.

Beyond media, DJ Akademiks has made waves as a musical persona known as Lil AK, releasing singles Blues Clues (2018) and Triggers (2018), and co-releasing the Clout Chaser EP (2018) with DJ Akademiks LLC.
