Doc Grober is a physician-turned-pestival pianist and bandleader who brings high-energy Dixieland and traditional jazz to stages across Florida. As an orthopedic surgeon by day and a passionate performer by night, Grober leads The Mudcats—an ensemble of South Florida jazz veterans gathered to celebrate the roots of jazz with crowd-pleasing, authentic performances. The Mudcats formed when Grober returned to music and assembled Florida’s top jazz players for dynamic collaborations at venues like the Pelican Yacht Club in Ft. Pierce. Their repertoire swings from Louis Armstrong-era standards to robust ensemble interpretations, delivering a lively concert experience that keeps audiences tapping their feet and singing along.
