A national fixture in Australia and the UK, Spencer is best known for his long-running role as a host on Play School (Australia: 1968–1999; UK: 1972–1988). His early hit single Fireball reached the UK Singles Chart, and he later devoted himself to children’s music through the Australian Children’s Music Foundation.
