The live experience
What reaches the room
Known for luminous high-voice gospel-infused bluegrass harmony, Doyle Lawson is a foundational figure in the genre. Born April 20, 1944 in Sullivan County, Tennessee, Lawson honed his mandolin prowess and formed Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver in 1979, a group that became a blueprint for gospel-infused bluegrass harmony. Though he retired from touring at the end of 2022, his influence continues through festivals, albums, and the next generation of players inspired by his distinctive blend of spiritual and musical storytelling.
