Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson is a renowned climate policy expert, writer, and public speaker dedicated to turning science into actionable solutions. Co-founder of Urban Ocean Lab, she shapes ocean-climate policy and helps communities navigate ecological and policy challenges. A Bowdoin College Roux Distinguished Scholar, Ayana is the author of What If We Get It Right: Visions of Climate Futures (2024) and co-editor of All We Can Save; co-author of The Blue New Deal. She brings decades of experience presenting at the United Nations, Smithsonian, Aspen Institute, and premier venues worldwide, and she co-hosts the climate podcast How to Save a Planet. Her work has earned recognition from TIME, including TIME100 Next (2021) and the TIME Earth Award (TIME100 Next Gala, 2025).
