Dr. Laurel Trainor is a renowned psychologist and neuroscientist whose research explores how we perceive and experience music. As a Professor of Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour at McMaster University, she leads groundbreaking work on pitch, tonality, rhythm, neuroplasticity, and the social aspects of music. She’s the Founding Director of the McMaster Institute for Music and the Mind (MIMM) and the Director of LIVELab, a 106-seat, research-based performance theatre used for live music research and intimate concerts. Her collaboration across disciplines helps bridge science and artistry, enriching both fields.
