Dreamteam is a Durban-born duo known for blending hip hop, house, and kwaito into high-energy performances. Originating from KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, the group began as Saso and Trey, with Zulu Mkhathini joining from 2011 to 2018. Their breakthrough came with the independent mixtape The Blow Up in March 2013, followed by the breakout single Tsekede—remixed with AKA and Big Nuz—that helped establish their profile on the national stage. Their studio album Dreams Never Die arrived on July 31, 2015, featuring collaborations with artists like AKA, Donald, NaakMusiQ, Big Nuz, and Ice Prince. Dreamteam has earned recognition including a Freshmen of the Year nomination at the SA Hip Hop Awards in 2013 and notable live appearances opening for Kendrick Lamar and Big Sean, as well as performing at the Metro FM Awards. In recent years, Saso hosted a marquee at the Durban July (2024) and is planning a larger marquee for 2025, underscoring their ongoing live appeal. The duo continues to release new material, with the July 11, 2025 single Go highlighting their current momentum. Follow Dreamteam for the latest tour updates and ticket availability.
